HOPE FOR LIFE foundation
There is much suffering and hopelessness in Latvia, especially among the teenagers and young women. Many of them have (had) a difficult home situation and there is a threat of becoming homeless, ending up in prostitution and / or becoming addicted.
The mission of the Hope for Life Foundation (CERĪBA DZĪVEI in Latvian) is to give vulnerable women faith and hope for the future so that their future has perspective and to help them develop themselves as individuals.
Our desire is to provide a safe place for teenage girls and young women. A place of encouragement and security where there is place and time to recover. A temporary home where they can discover that life is worth living and where they learn and experience how they can further shape their lives.
Regularly a place to stay for a period is offered in the living situation of the founder of Hope for Life to teenagers and young women who need a time out.
In 2015, the founder of Hope for Life completed a training as a foster parent in Latvia. As a result, the age limit for care has been lowered and several foster daughters have been cared for since December 2015.
Other activities also take place in the home, such as mentor conversations, pastoral care, English lessons, cooking lessons and lessons in hygiene and budgeting.
In the house, Christian values and norms are used and from our Christian vision we want to pass on God’s love to everyone who comes and stays in the house.
