Since October, Taylor I have only been able to visit women in prison twice.
Our desire was to be able to be here fortnightly, but we are experiencing some resistance from the management. This is difficult not only for us, but also certainly for the prison chaplain with whom we work. Last time, we discussed identity and self-esteem through a mask, personal stories and Romans 8. The women were very open and we were able to pray for them all. We hope to have another visit in January. After this, these women will be transferred back to another prison and our hope is that they were able to experience God’s love.

It was high time to freshen up the café a bit. Taylor and I did some great shopping and then, with a lot of sweat, put together the new chairs and tables. As icing on the cake, also a new painting in which we both see a promise of hope for women. The last few weeks have been somewhat quiet and we don’t know the reason for this.
On Tuesday 17 December, we will have a Christmas dinner in the café where the Christmas story will also be told and we will sing Christmas carols together. The women know that they always get presents at Christmas and we pray that many of them will come!
For the new year, there are ideas to offer the women other activities besides the usual evening, to be continued!
