All of us know what is happening in Ukraine right now. So many losses ( on both sides), so many people who flee from their house and country. Also, in Latvia there are refugees and it is touching to see how many people are offering their help in different ways.
While Gabry, a Dutch friend of mine, came over for a week we decided to go, together with Liga and Taylor, to Salvation Army. Here they are handing out clothes, shoes, hygiene items, food etc. to refugees. It is a great place to serve and so good to be able to help the team. Most of the refugees are speaking only Ukrainian and Russian, but sorting clothes, helping women to find clothes and shoes, is possible without speaking their language. Some of them speak English and it is heart-breaking to hear their stories, to see the war in their eyes and to feel their pain and hopelessness. We can listen to them, encourage them and sometimes also pray for them.
This is the time to be the hand and feet of Christ: to love, serve, and heal the broken, hurting, and hopeless of this world.
